The winning tagline you've been waiting for

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

I'm kind of scared, kind of excited... because behind-the-scenes (or with me, it's probably better to say behind-the-curls) I've been building out the most epic program for leading change that I could ever come up with. It's not ready yet, it'll be a few weeks till I can share more details about it. But I've started designing it and bringing it to life. And then I got stumped.

Call it writer's block. Call it a creative vacuum. But I realised that the tagline I had drafted for this brand new course, well, I wasn't in love with it. It was serviceable, to be sure. It's just wasn't ... scrumptious.

What do you think: "Growing your confidence to lead change end-to-end".

Yay or nay?

So I put the call out to my trusty followers (if you're on my mailing list, you'd have seen it) to participate in an exclusive contest to help me come up with the winning tagline. I needed ideas, and I needed them fast!

The winner would get a $200 Amazon gift card, as a thank you from me for getting me out of this pickle.

The power of people

Crowdsourcing and co-design is one of the most powerful things you can do in Change. Because the collective creativity of a tribe of like-minded passionate people... my goodness, doesn't it just make you feel tingly all over?

I closed down the contest last week and I reviewed all the entries.

And now... **drum roll please** I am pleased to announce the winner:

There wasn't one.

Instead there were TWO!

Because I was so inspired by the suggestions of two different entries. So what were the two entries that rocked my world?

Hand writing

...The winning entries that rocked my world

The first came from David H whose awesome tagline suggestion was: "With 'change' comes progress".

The reason I love love loved this was because I think it works on two amazing levels - both progress in the organisation, and progress for the individual as a leader and a human.

It's very powerful!

I got goosebumps.

The second was from the wonderful Jane Bartlett who sent through this moving suggestion: "Be the Change".

It really resonated because part of the course itself is about the person transforming their own leadership and life, not just the experience of their team. It made me feel the ripple effects of someone stepping into their change leadership, and how that automatically creates change in the world.

Can you hear the inspiration?

My new path forward

These entries were amazing and what they've done is actually cause me to revisit my original tagline and do one thing: shorten it. Because both David and Jane's taglines are simple, just 3-4 words, and I'm thinking perhaps that's why they are so powerful. They just make sense.

So they'll each get an even split of the prize - a $100 Amazon gift card each, because seriously: it was like a lightbulb moment for me. I can't wait to send it to them because I can't thank them enough for getting me past my block.

While I am still in design with the tagline, I'm sooooo much closer, because I'm actually thinking it could be this: "Confidence end-to-end".

Short, simple, inspirational.

Let me know what you think about this new tagline in the comments. And if you want to be the first to know when the course is ready and secure your spot, sign up to my mailing list here.
